Official HIGE Dandyism

Official HIGE Dandyism is a four men piece band. They are called “ HIGEDANN” for short.

It sounds like just joking, but there is a story behind this name. This name implies the member’s enthusiasm for their activities: “Even when we come to the age of beard look good on us, we want to keep doing music and make everyone excited with our member”.

The representative song of HIGEDAN is “Pretender”. This song was used for a theme song for a movie called “Confidence-man JP” which Masami NAGASAWA who is a very popular actress in Japan plays a lead. Many people regardless of ages were fascinated by this song like “ Who is singing this insanely good ballade?!”.

No doubt everybody sympathizes with the lyrics of high pioint「グッバイ君の運命のヒトは僕じゃない辛いけど否めないでも離れ難いのさ」(Goodbye kimino unnmei-no-hito ha boku zya-nai tsurai kedo iname-nai demo hanare-gatai nosa) which means “ I found that your soulmate is not me, it’s tough for me to give up on you but the fact that you don’t need me can’t be denied. Even after I realize that It’s still hard to move on”.

The chord progression induces the exquisite feeling of a broken heart, and lots of listeners begin to cry at the moment the bridge part just starts.

Satoshi FUJIWARA, a vocal of this band has talent in playing the piano as well as his expressiveness as a singer. You can see his technique in the introduction part of “ No-doubt” which is also said to be a masterpiece.

Plus, HIGEDANN made their major debut with “No-doubt”. This first single had no second in the variety of melody patterns and the awesome sounds.

Official HIGE Dandyism debuted 2018 can be said a band meant to be popular. Their sense of music and their outstanding character is the one and only. You cannot explain J-POP without listening to HIGEDANN.

the part where it hit me most is when he sung the line: “If there’s just one thing I know that’s true, it’s that: You’re Beautiful”

About 3 years ago, I saw him appearing as a guest at a certain singer’s concert, when people didn’t know about him yet. People around me were in an atmosphere of “such a stupid name of band lol”, but when he started his song, the atmosphere of the audience changed drastically. It was as if everyone was being sucked into his voice.
Mr. Fujiwara’s singing voice, which has attracted so many people in the years since then, is truly amazing. It’s wonderful.

Congratulations on 100 million plays. my favorite song.

The song is great, but really the music video is wonderful. It’s filled with all sorts of love in a few minutes.
Personally, the woman at the end of the song makes me cry every time I’m moved by her portrait.
