Never young beach, also known as “Nebayan”, is a four-piece rock band. It’s well known that vocalist Abe’s brother is Issei Takahashi (Japanese acter), but that’s not the only reason why Nevayan is known.

Initially formed in 2014 by vocalist-guitarist Yuma Abe and guitarist Kou Matsushima, the band became a five-piece band when guitarist Satoshi Anan, bassist Keigo Tatsumi, and drummer Kento Suzuki joined the band, which was sorely missed in 2018. Original member Matsushima left the band and it has taken on its current form.

Although they are a young band, having been formed in 2014, Nevayan have been gaining fans at a brisk pace, thanks in part to Abe’s charisma, and their musical style is a fusion of 1970s Japanese folk and 2000s tropical indie rock, literally a unique path to follow.

One of their most popular songs, “明るい未来 Akarui Mirai “(Bright Future), is especially popular with fans. It is a song with a nostalgic melody, but its tropical sound is very modern, and it is a song that is packed with the essence of Nevayan.

During the songwriting process, we felt that all of Nevayan’s songs sounded the same. But Abe, who leads Nevayan, responds with a confident, “It’s good to make the same songs” Nevayan are more down-to-earth in expressing their music than the happy atmosphere of their music might easily suggest.

The lyrics Abe writes are often about the ordinary scenery of everyday life. It’s not because he’s in a fluffy, happy place. It’s because he takes every day seriously and cherishes every moment, which is why the little everyday events make for beautiful lyrics.

For example, there is a lyric in “A Good Day for a Stroll, the Futon is Flapping” that says, “If you lift up your heavy back and open the window, it’s a good day for a walk, the dust is shining. It’s an everyday scene that comes to mind, but he’s probably the only one who can describe it as “Dust is shining”.
