DAOKO

DAOKO is a young artist born on March 7, 1997, a prodigy rap singer who debuted at the age of 15, and it was her posts on にこにこ動画(Nico Nico Douga) that led her to make her debut. It all started when he was in the third year of junior high school when he posted a rap version of the famous vocaloid song “Nonsense Speaker”.

The song is 15 years old, so of course, there’s a cuteness to the song’s voice, but there are not any parts that we feel the youth, thanks to her great power of expression and her arrange in the song. The indie label “Low High Who? It was her debut after going to high school, and since the school was very strict, she started her career without showing her face at first.

DAOKO’s fame probably rose quickly because she participated in the 2018 Kohaku Uta Gassen. What’s more, she performed “Uchiage Hanabi”, a song provided by Genji Yonezu, and with Yonezu’s fame, DAOKO became a person of the moment.

The reason why Genji provided the song to DAOKO was because of the transience he felt when he saw DAOKO live and also because he wished he could sing like that. It’s an episode that shows how talented DAOKO is as a young artist who is highly respected by the top artists.

The first song I would like you to listen to is “Uchiage Hanabi”, which was featured in the movie “Fireworks, do you want to see them from below? Side view?” I think it’s the most famous of all DAOKO’s songs, but if you haven’t heard it yet, please give it a listen.

In addition, DAOKO has been involved in many other tie-ups with movies and commercial songs. At only 23 years old, she is a young artist and there is no doubt that she will continue to be active in the future. Let’s take this opportunity to pay attention to her.

the credit scene where this song starts playing is the best tbh.

You love the movie: No problem!

You hate the movie: No problem!

BUT If you hate this song: There is something WRONG with you!

The world would have been really boring without these awesome Japanese artists

my friend passed away today… and so i was reading the letter she gave me before i migrated to another country. She said she was listening to this song when she was writing the letter… i am actually so sad and this song will remind me of her for the rest of my life.

I’m not a fan of rap at all, but this song is one my favs: daoko sounds so amazing, the rhythm is relaxing and the overall vibe is just great. I really hope she’s gonna make it big. She absolutely deserves it.

Ah.. I think I’m in love with Daoko’s voice…
