Bentham

Bentham is a Japanese four-piece rock band, who made their major-label debut in 2017, and they’re one of the most exciting bands out there right now!

The band was named after the 18th and 19th century English philosopher, Jeremy Bentham, who was inspired by the idea of “increasing the happiness of society as a whole as much as possible and distributing it to as many people as possible. The reason for the name was inspired by Jeremy Bentham’s idea of “increasing the happiness of society as a whole and distributing it to as many people as possible”.

Bentham’s appeal lies in their fast-paced, easy-to-follow four-piece rock songs that are right in the middle of the trend, but are also highly arranged and individualized. The band is a high spec band with all four members being able to write music, and they have a wide range of musical styles.

Especially, vocalist and guitarist Tasuya Ozeki’s high pitched voice is very distinctive. His high-pitched voice with the cuteness of a young boy before his voice change captivates the listeners. It’s a voice that can never be imitated by other male or female vocalists.

The major label’s debut single, “激しい雨(Violent Rain)” released in 2017, has a particularly Bentham-like quality to it. Of course Ozeki’s transparent voice is a must, but you must also listen to Motoki Suda’s guitar solo on the guitar and chorus.

It is easy to remember lyrics that repeat “Don’t wanna lose! ” or ” HEY!HEY!” It’s a catchy and fast-moving melody, but the lyrics, “I was crying in the tears with my eyes on the side of the rain that was pouring down hard,” are also very meaningful and appealing. It’s also a cheering song that gently pushes the listener back.

From September 2017, they held a national tour of 17 shows, all of which were a great success. The tour’s final show in Akasaka BLITZ, which was the biggest ever, was also a huge success, and they are a fierce band whose momentum has not waned even after their major-label debut. We can’t take our eyes off of them in the future!

Finally found it! I’m here from the ”The Quintessential Quintuplets ( Go-tōbun no hanayome )” manga video! Love the song! I’m already hype for season 2! Spotify: Hageshii Ame by Bentham (obviously) Apparently I can’t download the other version in Canada :/
