Macaroni Enpitsu( Enpitsu= Pencil) is a four-piece guitar-rock band. Formed when they were students at music college, their performance skills are a notch or two above the other bands.

Formed by members who attend a light music course called the Rock and Pop course at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, the quality of their music is just so high! They’re a very talented band that can play with a high degree of difficulty with consistency.

In particular, listen to “Washing Machine, You and Radio”! Doesn’t it surprise you that it starts with a catchy intro and A-melody, but the interlude begins with a psychedelic melody? The B-melody has a legitimate guitar-rock vibe, too, but the transition to the chorus with its explosive galloping and ennui is awesome!

It’s not just Hatori’s good taste on vocals that makes it possible to cram so many different elements into one song, but also the members’ ability to keep up with each other. The highly addictive songs of Macaroni Enpitsu wouldn’t be possible without one of their members.

The origin of their name comes from “the hollow and nonexistent macaroni” and “the pencils that create existence from nothing”. It means that they want to take something that doesn’t exist and make it meaningful by themselves. They also wanted to have an unusual band name.

To form the band, Hattori was the first to make a move. At the Senzoku Gakuin College of Music, Hattori took the odd step of finding members based on the condition that they were “guys who didn’t seem to have many friends” and “guys who wouldn’t say no! It’s interesting that the result is a group of members with varying degrees of musicality, which is what makes Macaroni enpitsu so good.

Furthermore, Hatori has stated that he only saw the members as ‘panels’ to satisfy his desire to form his own band, and his unusual personality is loved by his fans. Perhaps it’s better for a charismatic man leading a band to have this much of a craziness.

With their playing skills and unique songs, Macaroni enpitsu is a band that’s sure to have a big breakthrough in 2019, both in music and character!
